ShoreTel is the brand name of a Sunnyvale, CA based provider of commercial, closed-source VOIP solutions. Current implementations of ShoreTel systems include telephone handsets, as well as voicemail servers, switching hardware, analog phone outputs, and other telecommunications-related hardware and software. ShoreTel's Unified Communication solution is based on a distributed architecture with a single image for administration. While traditional TDM systems or competitor VOIP solutions require 2N redundancy ShoreTel accomplishes redundancy at N+1 by balancing the load on their voice appliances. Their ShoreGear appliances to not have any spinning media or hard drive. The ShoreGear appliance runs on the mission critical operating system called VX works and flash memory. The distributed architecture is uniquely built with no single point of failure.

Interactive Intelligence offers proven unified IP communications solutions for every aspect of business and customer service. Their products are used by over 3,000 of the most well-respected companies in the world. The Interaction Center is the heart of this UC solution.

  • Call Center: It provides a single all-in-one platform to meet the demanding needs of a contact center. Their software-based SIP architected Interaction Center offering delivers multimedia ACD routing, outbound dialing, call and screen recording, speech-driven IVR, and much more. This unified application suite that makes agents more effective and the customer experience a superior one.
  • IP Telephony: More than just dial tone and handsets, their application-rich IP PBX delivers the communication functionality that thriving businesses are looking for. With out-of-the box integrations to dozens of back-office applications, this Microsoft-based IP PBX provides functionality for desktop screen pops, presence management, call recording, a softphone client, and much more.

Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 (OCS 2007), is an enterprise real-time communications server, providing the infrastructure for enterprise instant messaging, presence, file transfer, Peer to peer and multiparty Voice and Video calling, ad hoc and structured conferences (audio, video and web) and PSTN connectivity. These features are available within an organization, between organizations, and with external users on the public internet, or standard phones on the PSTN.

Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 ('MOC' or 'OC') and the LiveMeeting console (LMC) 2007 are the primary client applications released with OCS. OC 2007 is the client used for IM, presence, voice and video calls and ad hoc conferences. LMC is used for more structured meetings, conferences and application sharing.
